Most seat changes since 28, Wink can't even remember back that far! Pretty good day as far as small business owners are concerned. But yes I agree those seats are full of rats, no matter if they are red rats or blue ones. Maybe some day Bell Labs will donate enough contract Blox to eliminate them all.

Well Paul, not much. Just more of the same that we've had for fifty or so years. Doesn't anyone remember the Reagan mid-term elections? How about the Clinton mid-terms. Even you young guys should be able to remember what happened in Bush's mid-terms. This is nothing more than the swing of the political pendulum. If you've liked the direction the country's been going these past fifty years, you'll love the next fifty.

Steve, so many of you are so much more intelligent on politics that it is an argument that I NEVER get involved in. ( Too stupid)
I guess I just felt overjoyed that the majority still feels the same about God, family, and country. Otherwise, they'd have elected Liberals!

One state Rep, got re-elected as a red "D", then announced she was switching party's to the Big Blue "R". LOL She had an A+ rating from the NRA.

Don't think any of today's politics is about anything but money (and, golly, which party is the party of the rich?) NEVER FORGET THIS: In a democracy, we get exactly the government we deserve. Some of the wisest words I've ever heard.

Dave, words I have said in the past that ring true today almost more than ever before "you deserve what you tolerate". I think those few words explain this country today. Don't ever get me wrong I love this land more than anything! We have allowed a huge mess and we have to fix it.

Fifty years? We have had the same two parties since 1853. I really wish the older generations would realize the party system, as George Washington predicted is a failing system.
think about it briefly, the party system creates 2 problems, individual ignorance, and political lies.
how many of you HONESTLY, researched all available candidates, and how many just said "I am a conservative, so I guess I will just vote Republican". We no longer have to be educated.
the second, political lying is inevitable. Politicians can no longer represent themselves accurately. If there is a politician who is generally liberal, thinks universal healthcare is smart, free birth control, pro medical marijuana, and a more equal distribution of wealth, but just so happens to think guns should be widely available, and birth begins at conception. What will happen to that politician, they will get NO WHERE because their own party will punish them for not sleeping along. The only option is to lie to please your party.

Since I started this whole thing, I would like to thank Paul, our host, and the moderators for letting us voice our somewhat
united opinions. All posts have been very upbeat, but I would like to encourage anyone who has a problem, to use the fine P.M.
system that is built into this site. Politics, like anything else that is abused, is short-lived on a site devoted to trapping.
We all behaved ourselves, which is what I had counted on.
P.S. I have done a fair job of keeping track of how each party has affected my earnings since 1961 and to be perfectly honest, both
parties came out about the same. They each owe me about $750,000.00, counting interest.

I wish term limits and lobbying restrictions after leaving office would become popular again. The country has always done better with a D pres and R congress or vise versa. The last fifty years seems like money talks and seems to be getting louder and louder. I don't know what the answer is but I'm optimistic that the cream will float to the top and the turds will flush out.
