Dad wants a couple to use, guess it reminds him of the good old days. What should we pay for them?

If I am understanding the question, your Dad wants to trap with your basic # 4 Triumph double long - right?

Last made in the mid 1930s, Triumph traps are very common, the # 3 double long is easier to find than the # 4, but there are a fair number of # 4s out there.

A # 4 Triumph double long in top collector condition is going to cost you somewhere in the $25.00 to $30.00 range. That would be all original, all complete, 100% pan.

Being a rather common trap, you should be able to find a couple of # 4 that have some trapper mods - non readable pan, modified chain, laminated jaws, etc. Etc.. Those are going to be in the $10.00 to $15.00 range each, depending on the mods.

Good Luck and have fun trapping with your Dad. smile

Thanks bud, he gets on the old school kicks sometimes and I can't get him off of them. I think he likes having a "pet set" like I do.
What I mean is I often set my favorite trap or traps where I know they'll produce. He's probably thinking along those lines, not like we don't have enough modern stuff to use.

Excuse me ma'am. I will still consider us buds though, since you were kind enough to help out!

Thanks for the information, and you too Mr. Dobbins.

I like old Triumphs, this on has caught me a bunch of fur since the '70's.

It was bent up from a catch, so I modified it, and made it dog less making a trigger out of the old pan, a Victor no.3 lever, and a 30 penny nail. I baseplated it and added new chain and a shock spring, it has held wolves, last one damaged it a bit, I fixed it and its getting set today for bobcat.

The pan now has a wolf tooth dent in it.
