Anyone ever have a mole dig under these traps? Iam currently having this with a particular mole,I am assuming he got pinched by one and survived it . I am going to switch up and try OS and see what happens .Any other suggestions would be appreciated.

Happens all the time, put another set in the same run. He thought it was a rock in the way.

This seems to happen to me when the ground is dry and I have dug up the tunnel and built a dam and I don't thing the molinator is set that way. In those conditions I smash a worm or use a commercial lure like underground orgrubstake under the trip pan to make him work the area al little longer and or sprinkle the trap area to get the worms and insects active which gets mr mole very active in the area. I nearly always tell my customers that I'm not going to outsmart the animal but get him with persistance. One day soon your going to be on your knees, thanking god that you have caught the little (This word is unacceptable on Trapperman) and you will really appreciate your payment

Sleep'n with an animal..I can help.

Better setting technique will help resolve this problem. You must have proper alignment of the jaws with the tunnel so they are into the side of the tunnel not blocking the tunnel in any way. If not it will just appear as a obstruction in the run causing a dig under or around the trap behavior. I use a run spreading tool to expand the tunnel a little where the trap is set. This allows easier placement without the jaws grabbbing roots and soil while pushing it into the run.

Dig unders by moles are a common problem in sandy soils if you are talking about Steve Albano's traps. Quit using them for awhile until I learned here on the forum to place them in the tunnels upside down instead of the traditional method as instructed. I'm back to relying on this great trap along fences, foundations, driveways and sidewalks where I cannot use the Elite OOS trap. This method has improved my success tremendously and is the only way I will use these traps.

Never thought of putting them in upside down.

Again, this works for me in sandy soils. Don't know how this method would work in clay soils.

Moles unlike gophers do not learn. If one digs under, as stated above a common thing, just clean the hole to the bottom of the new tunnel and stuff your trap back down with the trigger touching the bottom of the new tunnel. This is if you are using OOSs.
