Did a little looking into a job I looked at back in 2011.

Old historic home in a historic district. Slap full of bats and in a very sad state of repair. The mortgage company wanted the bats and guano gone and made habitable. I advised them to torch the place as more than a quarter of the soffit was rotted off and the sheathing on the entire back wall was gone, guano was head high in the first floor balloon framed walls with no access at all to the attic. Basically a rebuild to seal then gut it to clean. Asking price for the structure as was was only 40k. I think I hacked them off royally telling them the truth and reporting the same when asked by a local reporter.
So a little research found the original newspaper articles describing the problem but I was surprised to find another detailing the work of a company that was hired to do the work. I had never heard of them of course.
So being curious I thought I would try google earth street view to see the finished project.

The lot is vacant, as in GONE.

So I'm guessing that as a vacant lot, it's probably worth more than the original 40k?

I don't know that I saved them anything. They paid the other guy, and it turns out I do know him, to get them out and then tore it down.
