After searching the forum I didn't find much about Fox Squirrels. This spring I had a couple of jobs with nuisance fox squirrels(living in soffits). I have never had to trap fox squirrels until this spring. All went well. Both of these jobs were in the same small urban geographic location. I normally come across Fox squirrels in woodland areas, not in town. Usually greys dominate the urban areas around N.E. Ohio, but in this neighborhood I haven't notice much grey squirrel activity.

Who here regularly traps Nuisance Fox Squirrels?

Is their behavior the same or similar to grey squirrels, in regards to breeding/den activity?

Are the Fox squirrels becoming more urbanized?

I have always had fox squirrels in my area in towns. Just the last few years that the grays/blacks have moved in. They are similar in behavior, just the grays are more aggresive. JMO.

We have always had fox squirrels but in this part of Wisconsin they are true hardwoods squirrels. They never go inside houses and I've never seen them on roofs. ( Well, except for the one I caught ) I also caught a grey and a red in that same trap so I figured he didn't want to be left out.

We catch more than 1200 squirrels a year, so one fox squirrel in 26 years is kind of amazing!
