well the ice storm has melted with this 50degree day and boy it is muddy. i got a coon and a coyote and a badger that are just CAKED in mud. i will wash them out with the garden hose, but it is way too cold for them to dry on their own and not freeze, so i was wondering how all u guys dry your furs after washing them..thought about sneeking them into the basement (my room) but if my dad did come down he would have a heart attack lol. he wont let me take a heater outside, but maybe i can talk him into it if it is nessessary. thanks.

If you have a shop vac, just switch the hose to the blow side and blow the water out of them....you'll be amazed at the results.

Give is some snaps like snapping a towel... have dozen times or so, that will rid a LOT of the water... After you can do as bushmaster, blow it with a air hose, or let it hang 12 hours or so...

All are good suggestions.
I use my air compressor and blow out as much water as i can then i use the wet dry shop vac to remove any more water, use the suction side. then hang by the front foot and palce a fan on them. I belive they will dry better with the hide still on. You can leave a coon hanging around lkie that for a few days with no problem of It spoiling.

50 degree day and only 3 critters to dry and you don't have the facility, why not just wash them real good and hang them by the neck or front foot in a nearby tree and let mother nature dry them for you?

The reason you hang them with the tail down is that water will shed better that way.

well i check traps b4 school, and i drop the catch/gun off with my dad and then head in, and he throws them in the garage(not one to do much with critters but he is helping me out just putting them there) and then when i get home i deal with them. i think i will try the air compresser thing after washing them. o and i have a coonhound that thinks she has to drag coons off if i leave them out so i cant do that one lol. hanging them would work tho.
