We are getting quite a lot of snow on top of a couple inches we already had, so my dirtholes are getting covered. would i be better leaving them like they are and not getting new scent there? Or uncovering them and relureing?

I leave mine alone until more than 4" of snow accumumates on the set. If it is a hole set and the hole is blocked with snow, I walk close from the side of the set and take a long stick and open up the hole. Then I give the hole area a squirt of urine. When more than 4" accumulates I take a long stick and carefully scrape away some of the snow and smooth the area out the best I can. I also brush out my tracks back 25 feet or so from the set, usually with an evergreen bough. When snow gets too deep, I switch to mainly scent post sets in the snow. Ace

I was thinking the same thing. We have got a good 10" today. I know the general area my sets are at so I can see if I caught something but would play heck trying to find the trap. Is it possible to stil get a yote or fox in a set that has 10" of snow on top? The good thing is it should have the Fisher up off the ground and I can find those.

Thanks for pointing out the "wet or dry snow making a difference" in whether to leave it or remove it Tex A. I neglected to mention that. Ace
