Sounds like a plan Steve, thanks again. Holy crap, quitting this stuff just drove me to a workout on the elliptical and treadmill with my wife! I think that was a dumber choice than ever starting chewing in the first place! Lol, feelin fine here boys

Alright i'm gonna jump on this train too i've been chewing for 17 years at 2 cans a day and pretty much have one in 24/7 except for eating. Worst part is i gut it i gotta have skin graphs on my gums and i'm done with it i spend about 170 bucks a month on this garbage and all its gonna do for me is make me die sooner. Good luck to everyone that is doin this and thanks for the confidence boost in doing it also

Keep at it boys-You can do it, and you will be a better man for it. I quit about 20 years ago. There wasn't much better than putting in a dip of skoal after letting the hounds loose and listening for the first strike. My gums receded baring the roots of a couple teeth and then the chew worked on them. I lost those teeth and had another loosened. That gap in my jaw is a reminder of the cause. Do whatever it takes to get through as long as you don't replace it with another destructive habit. I'm rooting for you.

This list isn't perfect, but a lot of them are good motivation!!!

bwtrapper, it ain't fun let me tell ya. But it sure is a good feeling. The inside of my lips are already pretty much healed up. Its been 7 years since I've felt my mouth be normal. Its pretty weird! As long as you want to quit, you can do it. You have to be dead set on it. And Dont let the thought of "oh its just one" get in the way. I've had that thought a million times over the last two and a half days. Good luck!

Great job river man keep it up. This got me to thinking I've chewed since I was 14 or 15 so it's been everyday for about 20 years I'm going to quit on the first. You guys try to keep this tread going. I will post some updates.

Hahaha, boys, I'm the wildman extraordinaire, I'm done with this crap, it ain't that hard, and if it is for u, u ain't ready to quit. To those that are actually going through with this, good work, and upkeep up the fight. If u ain't quit, u ain't serious, find another fourm, this one ain't for u.

Keep it up guys . My last dip was march 3 of last year was tough but so nice nowing that I am free from it . Will still feel around for a can when I leave the house makes me smile every time . I used mint chew for the habit for awhile now free from all . Hardest thing I ever did but the best thing to . My wife stop smoking 3 years ago after 20 years .

I used to chew-Skoal, more than a can a day! In 1993, a man up at work had quit and was telling me about the stuff he used to help quit. Called MINT SNUFF made from mint leaves. Put in your mouth like Skoal and leave it in all day. Quit in 2 weeks, I had no cravings for chew and no withdraw symptoms.

Been free from the stuff since March 1, 1993.

Seems like its been an eternity. Third night now, going pretty good. I do wake up about 15 times in the night but I expected that. Hopefully tonight is better. Crazy what a tobacco addiction does to the body I tell ya

Is it me or does it seem like everyone is trying to irritate a guy when he is trying to quit! Today has been extremely trying, but I'm still tobacco free. I've always had a bit of a temper but got it under control a few years ago, but today has been a huge challenge!

Hey hope this is encouraging. I quit three years ago after five years of it. It really wasnt that difficult when i decided that i wanted to quit like others have said. The cravings never really go away but you will start to get them less often. Your in my prayers.

Morning everyone, still goin strong here, you better be too. Had to do some editing to my last post, wife drug me to the casino with some friends last night and I don't gamble.....apparently I made up for it in the beer dept, my last post wasn't even close to legible lol. Keep it up, I feel like each day is better than the last.
