I am trying to live capture and release some foxes for a radio collar study and so far we have been unsuccessful. I thought I would try the Collarum and was wondering if anyone going to the Dells meeting on 2/13/2014 could bring one to show me how it works.
Or give me your opion on how good a trap the Collarum is.
thanks
Richard

Richard, while Tim Julien is a good resource for Collarum™ information, you have a a longtime skilled user of the Collarum™ right in Wisconsin. Mike Wilhite, assistant editor of the Trappers Post has successfully used the Collarum for years and is always happy to talk with folks looking for more information on its' use. If you'd like me to put you in touch with him, just email me and I'll get you his contact info.

The Collarum™ was specifically designed for capturing canines, of all types, as it uses a "bite & pull" response to trigger the device. So fox and coyotes are the more common canines it is used to capture, but it is also used in other parts of the world for hyena, jackal, and dingo. Approx. 2 years ago it was approved in the U.K. specifically for the capture of fox. If live capture is your goal, especially around urban and suburban environments, the Collarum could be the tool for the job.

If you want or need more info., feel free to email me.
