Once it lands.....

Cover it with a small bucket or large cup.

Slide a pc of cardboard, big enuf to cover the cup/buckets opening, in from the side while BARELY lifting one side of the bucket/cup away from the wall.

Once you've slid the cardboard out the other side, and you know the opening is covered, pull the whole works away from the wall.

The bat will be in the cup, covered by the cardboard, inaccessible to all.

Take it outside, set the cup down pointing away from you, and uncover.

It'll probably take a few mins, but the bat will come out.
