I got 2 jobs last week and 3 this week. Kind of humbling after a great summer. I talked with 3 other companys and they are the same here.
I been stacking these mountain coyotes tho! The fur is in but the leather is about a week out.
Anyone else crying the October blues?

Same here, just finished up a bat job and a skunk job. Trapping season starts this weekend so I can start a few beaver jobs soon.

October is one of our busier months. ( okay, some of that has to do with our pest control business) but I personally have had chipmunks, two skunk jobs, muskrat removal, mink removal, and today I got a badger removal job in the last couple of days. October was not a disappointment.

I was just looking at some stats and this graph from one of our web sites is pretty consistent and shows the need to find other related work to add to your companies services that you offer. I know a lot of guys who don't even begin attic work until things cool off like now.

I have a homeowner looking for a professional WCO to give her a bat inspection, and attic cleanup for her home in Albany Oregon.

Anyone?

Beautiful area there in OR! I only remember one company when I worked there, worked out of Corvallis just south of there. Don't think they post on here though. Does Vinke go down there from WA?

Phone picked up this week.

Really put a hurting on my fur trapping. But thankfully the DNR called and needs me to remove some nuisance beavers so looks like I will be fur trapping for profit for the next few days.

Lots of mole work coming in, doing some attic clean outs and bird work. Squirrels are picking up now. I started fur trapping today and will be skinning tomorrow nite. We usually begin to slow down in late November. Phone is still ringing here.

I do all my bat guano clean-outs during the period from November through January. I don't do any clean-outs during the spring, summer, or fall. This allows me to do way more bat exclusions while bats are active. Other advantages are cooler working conditions in attics and spreads income more evenly throughout the year.

Phone is ringing with squirrel, raccoon, and mole calls, but passing many to other WCO's as still working on pre-sealing some big structures for bat programs. Tubes will be installed in spring.

Our fur trapping season opens November 10th here, but it's usually late November before I can squeeze in any time for fur trapping, though I love it.

Finally back to steady calls versus the non-stop phone ringing mayhem of the past 8 months. Had a brief lull the past two weeks which allowed me to knock out 1/2 dozen bat/rat/coon/squirrel-proofings and attic cleanouts. Finishing one guano cleanout on Monday and waiting for insurance company to approve one nasty coon poop cleanout/attic restoration. Coons in attic/chimney calls are picking up. Just ran out of stainless 9X17s, so I need to place another multi-pack order this weekend.

It's been quiet here for the past couple of weeks but today I set up on a skunk job and a feral cat job.

It's pretty late in the year for skunks. Most have denned up by now but I'm glad to have the job. The customer says it's eating under the bird feeder every night so I hope it will be quick and easy.

The cats will be more challenging most likely. Looks to be about a dozen with two breeders.

sqs, make sure that the cats have to trip the cage to get the bait. I watched two fairly tame cats go into one of my cages, eat all the bait ( one on each side of the pan ) and leave without getting caught.
From then on, bait went under the cage and no more misses.

Finally caught a skunk ( there may be more ) after 5 days. It was hard to make a positive set, but I should have tried anyway.

The beaver calls are starting to come in from subdivisions. Seems they are starting to chew on the trees. Some squirrel calls, little early here yet.
