I have a chance at getting a contract to do control on a summer camp. Would be taking over from a larger company. Now the catch is, I am fairly decent with the rodents. But they also have a house fly problem and possibly some carpenter ants. If I get the contract is may also move into some ground squirrel work in the spring.
I know the current company is maintaining fly traps. I am a licensed applicator. But I don't normally do insect work. I can really use this contract though.

How would you folks approach this? Is there a good way to take care of the flies or?

I'm the only one of seven of us that doesn't do insects and I got a higher score on my pest control pest than the other guys so how hard can it be?

LOL that is true. I guess the current company is using some form of fly trap. I just need a direction to go. I don't really want to go into detail. But this summer camp is for special needs children so I wont be marking up the job a whole lot.

#1 rule of Pest Control: identify the Pest! There are many different kinds of Flies. They feed on different things. Get samples and get the samples ID'ed. Could be Flesh Flies, Stable Flies, Blow Flies, House Flies or who knows. Contact your State Entomologist for ID. They can also provide insight into treatment for each kind.

Like Lundy suggests do an ID on the type of fly. They could be house flies, cluster flies or blow flies which are the most common that we get calls for during the year. For example if it is a blow fly problem, there is likely a dead animal in or near the building causing the fly hatches and attraction.

I believe these are house flies. It will be a little while before I can make it out there to see anything. I told them I really cant give them a bid until I see it. Which is rather obvious. It is about an hour drive each way.

Cluster flies may be the culprit.
