I'm working in a town barn trying to trap them with no luck. I'm using cut coen and black oil sunflower seeds. They are roosting in this building, but do not appear to be interested in the trap. The trpa was there for 3 weeks with the doors in the open position until last week when I closed them. It has been three days with nothing in the trap. Can anyone offer some suggestions?

Get on craigslist and buy a pigeon and put it in the trap. Even a dove decoy might work.
I use pigeon feed.

Are you trapping inside the building where they are roosting, or trying outside where they are looking for food? Just a thought.

I'm in the building, I have done this before with no problem. These seem to be avoiding the trap.

I'm sure it is possible, was just thinking if your having a hard time, it might be as simple as switching location to an area where they are more comfortable feeding and not paranoid.

I wonder if you elevated the trap off the ground...maybe on the top of shelves...but below their roost.

Dave I'm going to try that, they are feeding on the ground, and on top of the sand piles.

Are you sure they are feeding, and not just getting the sand? Pigeons will eat sand to help digest food.

That and dust baths. Love the idea of a decoy.

Since I purchase all my pigeon feed from a feed mill, I can't help but agree with Red Ryder. If those pigeons are snooty enough to avoid my expensive bait, they deserve to be a victim of my .22 Gamo.
