Didn't take video or pictures. But as most of knew already they can spray when you have them by the tail, ask me how I know. Customer caught a skunk in a snap trap and called me. Half of the neighborhood saw the golden spurt go right onto my arms an shoulder.
From my experience you have a 50/50 chance of getting nailed when you get them by the tail. Great way to start a monday, getting pooped on by a grinner than nailed by a skunk. I really do love my job.

I have a standing rule that if they caught it, my price doubles to deal with it!

Got to get there front feet off the ground or they will spray so one quick motion or destrack them first using water . I just got one by the tail it did spray but not till I dropped it in the trap just like I told the cam dude it would .. Had two skunk setups today wierd

Pesky the skunk from the day before did not squirt. This rat trapped skunk did spray, not Intill I had walk ten feet with it completely of the ground. I saw the golden drops come flying as the skunk was spinning, that thing had perfect timing.

Shoulda called turtle man...he could of showed you the proper way to grab a skunk.

Hmmm never had that happen . Must of been saving up for you . I just videoed a skunk calling to a group of skunks I've never herd them do that before . Made this kinda grunt sound kinda like a diver duck does . Hope I got good haven't made sure yet . Could be very useful

The foot. The worst part was the black rat trap was tangled in roots. Fun fun fun.

I'll try that next time. Where do these tales come from. One customer said if you shoot the skunk right between the eyes it won't spray. You should have smelled that guys block.

No shooting them wont work they spray about every time atleast for me they do . The number are so low around here right now I wish them unharmed relocated . As long as look In good health that is . I have had young skunks in that same type trap set for chipmunks by the head they never sprayed . Just picked them up dropped them in a squirrel cage .Started using the reg victor rat traps haven't had that problem sense . If I cover a trapped skunk with a tarp they don't spray . They have them tube traps they don't spray in them. The skunks with rabbies they seem to spray no madder what you do . Just move slow watch there front feet and if they start stomping there feet there about ready to swing around and spray so then just freeze let them settle down . Some times there over heated when you show up removing them from a home owners trap and that causes them more likely to spray . Mist them down with a garden hose and give them time to cool down .it's all in watching there front feet that tells the future

I think that I understand. I once had a rabbi that caught a skunk...could not tell who was madder...the skunk or the rabbi. The buggers spray every time.

I would rather let a skunk go from a foothold with my bare hands than shoot one. My chances are better. Now everyone gets all upset about my favorite chemical ( especially Dave ) but how many of you have caught more than 450 skunks in a single season, without a single mishap?

P.S. Pesky, it will take a long time before those skunks ever get a population like they used to have. In the meantime concentrate on something else. ( I'm talking about animals, not a new Mrs. Pesky )

I know I was just agreeing with you About shooting them . The thing Paul's talking about I have a video on it seems to work very well . I haven't tryed it myself but sure looked effective
