Dam break with "breasting stick" like in Pauls videos

Both Summertime Beaver Control and Beaver Sites and Sets are great vids and shortened my learning curve immensely.

I have generally never had a problem with summer beaver but this is a 90 acre lake that i caught beaver on in the past, but they are seeing one beaver swimming around every now and then but there is no sign and as far as I can tell he doesn't leave the water... least not often.

You said crowded rich sub made me think maybe it's a muskrat there seeing . Fact and truth can be hard to get second hand . Normally A lone beaver or batchelef beaver doesn't leave much sign or work very hard keeping house or food stores he's living in a old bank den or lodge just being lazy . I guess the big Question is if he's not even leaving a foot print on shore how would the animal be causing damage and why even trap him or shoot him . People don't like animals I would refuse the job myself I draw the line you got to show me or telling something the animal is doing to cause damage just because it's a animal isn't reason enough or legal under my damage control permit . That said if he was causing some damage he must be cursing along the shore line tight to the bank so a few well hung snares should get it done beaver like to run along the banks tight to the banks if it's not to shallow of water .

"its illegal to shoot/hunt beaver in mo"

Often times you can throw fur trapping regs out the window when your dealing with a nussiance wildlife problem

In other words often times CO s will allow you to do what needs to be done to solve the problem. That does not mean setting 330s on land but you might get by with breaking a dam or setting colony traps for squirrel when it is normally a no go.
