A few months ago or maybe a year I told someone in this vast network that I used the plastic coated stainless steel fish leader to anchor my traps. Now I have added a snap swivel to attach to the trap. Cable doesn't twist so much. easy to replace.

I used a heavy vinyl coat wire, it is white easy to see also add a red bead for the larger one.
Never had any problem with twisting. JMO

I use the leaders as well and have had no problems. Much easier and more convenient than making my own. I also use a 4" - 6" landscape staple to hold the ties in place.

Mike:
Do you paint your location of the trap or add a flag?

Ev - I flag just about everything but use marker paint when needed or requested - especially when using Steve's traps. I lightly spray about a foot to the right of each set to avoid stinking up the set.

I spray mark a lot on the golf course because jokers and anti's like to move or remove my markers. As to using snap swivels on my trap ties this morning I noticed a tie was just about off and it was a "snap" to change it. I always carry some extras in my work bucket.
