Living here in NY, we have 3 different mole species. The one everyone talks about is the Eastern Mole. Next, is the Star Nosed Mole. Last, is the Hairy Tailed Mole.
I have caught a few Star Nosed Moles but never an Eastern Mole! The Hairy Tailed Mole is the "mole of choice" on the properties I trap. Anyone else have one species predominate
what you catch?

From info I have been able to find, Hairy Tailed Moles should not be very abundant here!

Hi Bob,
We only have one species over here; Talpa europaea but there are certainly plenty of them, this time of year at least.

So how many American mole species are there in total?
