I'm just wondering what kind of gloves everyone uses for setting traps and what is the reason they use those particular gloves.

I have a set of rubber gloves I use. Keeps my sweat of the trap and the mud off me I have worn cotton "jersy" gloves befor to. Didnt notice any difference to be honest.

Caught em with everything also, jerseys, leather, and rubber. Now I wear wrist length rubber just because they keep my hands dry. Rain and mud doesn't go thru them!

I myself use no gloves when setting traps, and have never had a problem with scent contamination. If gloves gives you that extra confidence when making sets then use them. Seems this has been debated a while back in the days of WileyE and Asa and alot of good info resulted from it. Keep this topic at the top. Better yet ask Hal.LOL ------------- Billfrank

I like rubber dipped cotton gloves for comfort setting and building, lure bare handed.

I just found a sweet pair of k-9 gloves. they are cotton mesh on the back, and rough rubber on the palms and fingers, keep your hands dry when setting in mud, and smell proof because of the rubber. I love them. very flexible and form fitting, just like a jersey glove. warm too.
I survived the death clutch of Boss Hog, and am now here for my 3rd tour of duty on Tman
