Just made up a couple rebar stakes for some dp's. Just pounded a nut on the top and gonna weld em on at school monday just in case. I wanted to see how they held, so I pounded one in the ground and it gave me heck when I tried to pull it. Do you guys have any pullers or any way that makes it alot easier?

Pair of vice grips. Just twist around a couple times then back and fourth. Never had one I couldn't pull out of frozen ground. Or you can get a nail puller and start it up with that. Then pull with vice grips.

I use Vice Grips too, don't skimp on the vice grips, buy a quality pair and stakes are easily pulled.

i use my custom trap bed diging tool. or i will wrap my trap chain around another stake and use it as a lever. some are easier than others. i am going to experiment with some berkshire anchors this weekend. tired of carrying all those stakes. mine are 24" with a nut welded ontop

A 4' wrecking bar with a piece of 1" galvanized pipe welded on,at the apex of the bend,to form a 'T'. I use 24" x 3/8" washer toped rebar. Hook the 'claw' under the washer and pry it up like a nail. Then catch the 'claw' in the striations of the rebar,at ground level and pry again-reepeat as needed. It works like a ratchet jack, and saves time and my back.

Charlie

I looked at 50 pages of stock pictures,to find something similar, but evidently nobody makes anything like it.

^ That looks like it works slick! ^

I met a guy who used a slide hammer he'd made to pull up rebar stakes too. Guess that works pretty well also.

Vice grips for sure. I don't have a picture of this but I weld a piece of 3/8" rod maybe 8" long across the back of the vice grips. Use this to pull and twist. Try to position it on the pliers so that you are pulling exactly in line with the stake.

Just cut a piece of channel so it slips under the nut/washer bolt a chain to it and hook a handyman jack in the chain loop anf jack it out!
