Most any commercial bait should do the job for you. You will have to experiment like most to determine what works best for you. However if you have traps setting for more then a few days they you need to reevaluate and determine what the senario is that you are not catching your target animal. You have to ask yourself is it gone, dead, avoiding your set up or are you off target etc.
Geographical location, weather, such as sun exposure, wind, rain and humidity all affect the life of a lure and bait. Well built ADC products can be active with odor a couple of weeks or more. If used in adequate amounts and somewhat protected from the elements with a trap cover set in the shade or sheltered to some degree etc.
Moisture loss due to evaporation of the base material and actives will vary greatly from product to product. Lures and baits are not built the same, so some will last longer then others due to ingredients used in formulation of a product. The better answer is to hone your inspection and sign reading skills by determing the problem and then the right tools to intercept the problem animal.
With all the tools available today there shouldnt be many situations that cant be handled within a few days time if you know what to do.
Therefore length of time for a bait to be effective isnt as important as your skills as a ADC operator.
I would assume that most if not all commercial products are effective for the intended target animal that they have been designed to attact.Eveyone has their preferred favorites and some use a variety of products for their daily work.
