I had a WCO ask me at the NWCOA seminar about using the starling stopper to remove starlings or sparrows from a soffit.
Here are a couple of photos of the trap set in a vertical position. Besides helping to hold the trap in place, the duct tape is used to prevent gaps and force the babies toward the light at the bottom of the trap.
Also, in this case the detachable nosecone is taped to hold the weight of 6 juvenile starlings.
