My lovely bride says that there is no way I'm going to Cleveland alone! ( She knows that at seventy years of age, I'm still so handsome, that I would be picking up chicks all the way there ) Okay, enough lies; so who is going? You've only got a couple of days left to register early and save some big bucks. ( Since Eric knows me very well, I'll probably have to pay double to get in )

P.S. I've already asked all of the Kardashians to accompany me and guess what? I'm still available.

My son and I are going. I talked to Eric this afternoon and he told me he had not heard from you yet. Get on the ball.

I have always stated that the seminar attendance I believe would be better if the time of year would be set at a later date. Many who are in the control business are trappers first and nuisance operators also. I still fur & ADC coyote trap actively and I am on the road until late February to early March. Therefore as much as I would like to attend these events it just isnt possible for me.I am sure there are many others that have the same conflict.

Bob,

I agree with you and hear the same argument from guys that don't fur trap, hunt, or do ADC saying their too busy from Feb - Nov. So instead of trying to pull off one big event each year, I am also looking at doing something that would be smaller (1 day or so) at the same location as the NTA but right before it. I'd hope this would to help offset travel expenses and availablities for attendees and vendors.

Everything is still in the planning stages right now, but if I can pull it off an announcement will be made in the magazine, on the website, and to everyone I have an email address for.

Since I was just asked about this I thought I'd quickly make a post.

The early registration rate of $225 ends Friday November 30th at 5pm EST by phone (330-350-2161) and at midnight when using the PayPal link at http://www.wctmagazine.com/training.htm. Mailed registration payments must have a postmark of Nov 30, 2012 or earlier to receive the discount.

Starting on Dec 1st the registration rate increases to $275 regardless of how the payment is received.

Boy, talk about a learning process! I have fur trapped longer than I have done ADC work; but by the first of the year, we were 90% done. Everything was usually frozen hard as a rock.

My experience in two dozen years of ADC work is; December is the slowest ( Because of the holidays ) and January ain't much better. So, the days picked for the seminar are perfect; except now Mr. Jameson comes up with an argument why they are not even good days. I had a man tell me in an E-mail that he would never attend a seminar, because they couldn't possibly teach him anything new: He already knew it all. This man is an idiot! I didn't even know that the end of January was prime trapping for some of you. But I do now.

Are most guys fur trappers, first....and ADC second......because furs are worth more than the dollar? I am trying to decide if I am excited about this or not....

That is funny Dave. A large muskrat brings $13, which is way more than the 35 to 50 bucks you get for ADC 'rats. Of course, you don't get the pleasure of skinning and stretching them. And it's the same with every species; you get one tenth to one third the price, plus you also get to dry, skin, flesh, stretch, transport, and sell your hides and all for free.

Well, I heard of people buying gold as the govermnent prints money. I was not sure if people were converting their dollars to fur.

But, I see how my origional post could be intrepreted differently....which was not the intent.

Eric, I like the idea of piggybacking on the NTA convention, especially when it's in Missouri.

I think no matter what date the seminar is scheduled there are going to be conflicts. For us in Tennessee, January and Feb are skunk mating season and the first squirrel litter of the year. We are absolutely slammed. We work solid until July/August when things fade a bit. As Dave said, I'm all for piggybacking on the NTA convention.

You can not please everyone. Schedule when you want, and those that are serious about their business will come.

Always going to be conflicts with time management. Some jobs you can schedule and others go tot be done when the donin is good or something like that. What all of have go t to do is schedule some time to recoupe, take a break and refresh. Training seminars, classes, NTA and FTA rendezvous are just that and you can even have a tax deductible business expense.

Everything I do is a tax deductible business expense. I got a letter today from the IRS. They couldn't find our employer quarterly reports for 06 and 07. I couldn't either; maybe because we had no employees back then.
