I could fax you mine too, if I had one. ( I'm still weighing the money that's owed against the time spent chasing down signatures )

Paul,

Even if you don't call it a contract I assume you must have the customer fill out something when the tech arrives? Or do you just do that for the pest control side of things?

Nate, yeah the techs fill out a job sheet and I assume they get signatures but many time the boss will have the credit card and no one will be there. On my jobs, I hand pick the clients for honesty. ( Or their availability to dump off animals if they don't pay )

That is more or less what I have is a "job sheet" when you say contract I think of you saying we agree that I am here for x amount of days and you are to pay y amount of dollars.

Mine basically just gives me all the customers information and it says what species we are targeting and how much I am charging them. Luckily in Wisconsin a verbal agreement is binding in court so no need for contracts if you want to go without them.

Lately I have been chasing a lot of money around. Went a long time with minimal issues but this year has been a record for people not wanting to pay.

I would be so grateful to get a copy of someone's contract. I want to be legal and covered but have no idea where to start with writing one. If I could just get to look at one, I won't copy it. Just looking for ideas.

It is taking all my extra cash getting things together and starting a little advertising. Can't afford a lawyer bill right now.

Hey Paul
You have been lucky, hope it does not happen to ya at all, but sooner or later our luck runs out. Nice work area you have down there. I spend a lot of time there in Weirs Valley.

Sunflower, in your additional fee's how do you know the owner isn't getting rid of the catch so he doesn't have an additional fee and you say the property owner will check traps , i would think if it's the law that you or your company would have to check it just to make sure it's been checked and what time.If your catching skunks and say you get $75.00 a head and more to put him down ,do you give the owner the chance to let you relocate at no additional fee and do you have rights to any fur's if you want them?I know alot goes with what your trying to catch.

smallcreek55 Luckily, we rarely have that problem. No one wants to even check skunk traps let alone take them in their nice car. We normally use mag 60 conibears for almost all squirrel jobs, so they are up higher. I have even had people pull a couple of mole traps out for me so they could see them, and call me so I could bill them correctly.

Apartments and commercial properties are the worst, we tell them if our traps get tampered with, stolen, damaged, etc. they are responsible. Normally we charge them a trip charge daily to check unless they can see the trap easily and call us. The regs here state they are to be checked once per calendar day, they don't really care who checks them. If we don't hear from them by a certain time we call them to check.

We can only relocate to KS state owned property, or we must have written permission from landowner. Relocation unless it is close requires more driving, and more time, so I know some companies charge More to relocate.

We can keep anything we catch for the fur if we want to. We would probably starve if we relied on this though.
