I am so glad to be a grandpa. I think its better then being President of the USA or being the first man on the moon. I never could of dreamed how cool it is to be grandpa in a very young child's eye. To them you are the whole world. I really wish all three lived locally and sadly only one grandson does.

Robb, this is a real problem that I have as a very blessed grandfather. My farthest grandchildren live a whole 20 minutes away and the rest are closer. When the subject of grandchildren comes up with customers, I don't know if I should tell them how fortunate I am or keep my mouth shut. A lot of my clients have to fly or drive a long way to visit their offspring and many of them do. I want them to know that we are loving grandparents too, but I don't want them to hate us. ( Maybe if I told them how many times we got stuck baby-sitting when we were really tired, that would help ) No, it wouldn't.

God gave us grandchildren for a distinct purpose, I believe. This is true! When my son was born it didn't take long for me to figure out what that purpose was. The child is grandmas revenge on her own little brat! My son gets away with EVERYTHING with Granny that used to get my butt whupped! A good example; How many times, when I was a kid would I beg for a cookie to be told, "Not now. We're gonna eat supper in a few minutes." BUT... I can be picking up my boy from Grannies TO GO HOME AND EAT SUPPER and she's following us out the door shoving cookies on him! I try to tell her, "Ma, we're going home to eat right now. His momma's got it on the table waiting for us." But she says, "Well, he needs something to hold him till you get there." What?!... Something to hold him?! We live 200 YARDS away! It's not like he's gonna starve to death on the long ride! Yes.... Grand children are what our parents use to get revenge on us!

Congrats, Warrior. Both of our granddaughters live only 15 min away and attend school within walking distance of grandma and grandpa's house. Please notice that grandma got top billing.

Paul, Grandma's nose gets out of joint here because grandpa doesn't think like grandma. My priorties begin and end with "will grandpa and the girls have fun?" Other minor details such as, can they get dirty or is it a school night, rarely enter my thoughts.
