I was just thinking of all the new people asking questions about getting into business. This would probably make a great article in WCT...so here is a start for a ambitious author.
What personality traits help one be successful in this business? First, one needs to overcome fear of unknowns...and exhibit perseverance when things get tough. There needs to be a commitment to operate in a manner that is ethical to customers, wildlife, employees, and competitors. One must have the ability to be brutally honest with themselves and adapt when necessary. Aptitude to learn on a continual basis. Being a bit OCT doesn't hurt either.
Other thoughts to continue the dialogue?

That is a topic on its own! It is probably the most important element too.

Helps if you have either no sense of smell or a love of nasty odors. High tolerance for the 3 p's poverty, pain, poop and pee. You should be good at math and be able to squeeze a turtle head back in for a long time. You probably should not have children. Treat your body like a temple, eat healthy food, don't drink alcohol, and be nice to dogs. I do treat my body like a temple, temple of doom. Both shoulders-gone, both wrists-gone, knees-ok so far, both feet-dying. EAT HEALTHY: ice cream-dairy,Margarita ingredients: tequila-made from agave=vegetable, salt=required mineral, lime=vitamin C. Salsa=all natural vegetables, tortilla chips=corn a vegetable. NO ALCOHOL??? what other reward do we have at the end of the day? TANK the dog adores me!

Of course you haven't squeezed a turtle Paul, you are smart enough to have a van. To a man with a van and a 5-gallon bucket, nothing is impossible. Just don't set the roll of TP where a coon can get to it. I love it !!
