I need ideas for a kneeling pad for making k-9 sets. Last year I used a lawn-and-leaf garbage bag and didn't really like it. What do you use?

I use knee pads and I have a pad that is made for gardening. It is plastic on the bottom and some kind of felt on top. I bought it at a feed and seed store.

It takes 43 muscles to frown, 17 to smile, but only 3 for a proper trigger squeeze.

I was thinking on getting a cheap Dollar Store door mat and useing that. I could contain my dirt fairly easy with it and possibly cut it in two if it were too big.

I use a piece of heavy canvas about 30" by 36". Sometimes I sew a rubber facing on it which is always placed down to avoid getting the canvas damp when its really wet weather. Also, I always know what side is up or down so the down side always stays free of blatant human scent. Ace

What about just using a thin rubber floor mat (the old style) out of an old car. Would roll up easily and fit right in the pack basket.

I do not use one, but find a Lineman and ask for a "Blanket" It is a thick Orange rubber mat they use for insulating when working on hot lines. These are tested frequently for insulating quality. When they test bad, they are still useable. They are about 3 feet square.

I use one of those foam seats that you would take out hunting with you, it's about an inch thick and does not absorb moisture.
Orange in color so I can find it when I'm ready to go.

Get some leather knee pads, then carry a drop cloth or an old piece of canvas tarp to put your excess dirt on...

You can order knee pads at the link below... they are the best I have ever found... and they never have them in the stores....

You fellows must not have grass burrs, stickers or catcus in your country...

Everything in mine will bite you, plus there is nothing like kneeling down on a good pointed flint rock.... LOL....

The big thing is it savers your blue jeans from wearing holes in them...

That is why I prefer leather..... plus the straps stay in place...

I just crouch while driving stakes then kneel on my axe handle while I finish working on the set. Works good for me!

I use a car floormat from walmart. It rolls up nice and fits easliy in my 5 gallon trap bucket. No problems here with it.

I keep my old leaky hip boots and wear them for canine trapping. That way I get more value out of them, plus I don't have to worry about brushing up against stuff going to & from the set.

Baught a gardening kneeling pad from a drug store one summer that has the handle built right into it. Real Soft plastic stuff on the outside and foam on the inside. I've been using it for about 6 years now. I wouldn't be without it. Dan
