Did the same thing with a brand new long barreled one - was the 1st job I was using it on

Been there a few times . I know what your going threw . It's a natural feeling guys get when tools get broke . Kinda like letting your old truck go . It could be you have a Spar gun unlike me so it could be not so bad . I haven't seen that kinda gun before . Mine is green

LOL I just had that thought today. I was up about 20 ft at a very nice full log home. And thought "Man I hope I don't drop this gun!" Its just funny you posted this

trapper4, I've been dropped from the same height, on my head no less, and sustained less injuries. I know talk is cheap, but that hospital bill sure wasn't.

I had holsters made for all of our guns to hold them fast between applications. As long as you re holster it after each use you will minimize the drop significantly. Had a leather shop guy make us ours.

When I was in the Army, all of the LTs had to have dummy cords on their pistols.

When working on a ladder, lift or ridge hook you can holster the gun and not be concerned as to where to set it while not in use. After having some close calls with dropping one several times I knew I needed a better system of holding a gun while working or climbing to keep your hands free as needed.

I use a camlock from a snare on 3/32" cable to loop around the handles of gear, and a snap link (the oval shaped ones) to attach another loop in the cable aroung a rung of the ladder or my vest--then it can only fall a few feet, but it's long enough to reach with.

I've also been known to just use bailing twine---anything to keep it from falling.......

Shoot, I don't even have to drop 'em to get them to develop diarrhea...I've had two of 'em do that in the last month. One gun was about two weeks old.
Every year, those foam guns drive me closer to the looney bin. I just wish there were a way to keep 'em from leaking/gumming up. And, yes, I've tried every trick, including torching the barrel.

I had a customer going after a bat in the crook of his ceiling with a broom. he fell off the 6' ladder and broke his hip and ankle, he went to emergency room. who waited until the next morning to work on him? at that time they discovered and flesh eating bug and talked about amputating his leg. he transfered to another hospital in a different state and was able to keep his leg. however he is still to this day trying to recover. thats been 2 years ago now. falling off a ladder can be more than you would think. better the $30 foam gun than what happened to this guy.

Clean your gun after each use with a screw on can cleaner and leave it on until your next use.I have had my last ones over 6 years now without issue or gumming up. My first few didnt last a year or so before ceasing up.
