Got a call today for moles...went to look at it...no mole activity at all in her yard(its been treated for grubs...only the yard has been treated BUT not the mulch beds)...but all kinds of digging with small holes(2" to 3" wide holes about 4" to 5" deep)in her mulched flower beds...the mulch is dug out onto the yard even like something digging it like a dog would. She said she fixes the mulch and the next day its tore up again....this has been going on for awhile now she said.
Would this be SKUNKS looking for food or a coon?...i did see some deer crap under a tree would deer do this?
I thought skunks.

Anyone ever run into this before?

I had this happen to my front yard once, nice round holes, and i could see at the bottom of a couple of them what was a bee's nest of some kind, so one day i was just sitting in a chair and i saw a yellow type hornet or yellow jacket go in the ground, have one started last week the bee has a hill of dirt about half inch high couple inches round , was going to set my cam out .
Last time i was guessing a skunk.

Skunks or coon damage. If it is freshly landscaped with mulch that is common for the species mentioned.

Unfortunately, I am doing a mulch job myself at this moment. Not sure about the rest of you but truth be told, EVERY FREAKING THING IN THE WORLD has to dig in the mulch!
