How do you sell these so cheap? I can't buy a decent yote pelt with paws and claws for less than $90+

Hey Wolfwoman, I shop around and can usually find good coyote hides with feet and claws for around $65, and I only have a couple hours in the sewing/soaking.

I sent you a pm a couple months ago. Is this the "Mountain Man" style hat? Is it possible to make it without the body section? I like the feet on it but can it be done essentially like a regular fur cap except with the back legs just dangling instead of the whole body? I think having that much hanging down the back would get in the way.

Givem a dirtnap

There are fur hat and there are real good fur hat,Some of the short cut to look at when buy a hat, It cost like the say, you get what you pay for, I know as I been making hat for a real long time, I just do not make hat's i also make mukluks, which i fine that most furor do not, Here are some thing to look at when buy a hat with head or with out are they formed or flat head, Eye or no eye, size do they fix just one size or can they adjust, That is one of the most over look fact, are they made out of prime fur or not, This all play in the cost,

pancake do not get me wrong here I think you do a good job for what your ask for them, I think it is right on smirk do you have a web-site? what fur sewing machine? A B bonis or other. How long have you been making them?

Wolfwoman I did look at your web-site It seem to me you are more in to the bomber style, look good form what i could see in photos, ? are you hat one size? and what sewing machine do you use? How long have you been making them?

I hate the bombers...lol But people request them, so I make them. I make them to size, I have everyone measure for me and then make the hat accordingly. Most of the pics on my hat page are trapper hats, just a few bombers. Check again. :-)

I sew by hand, everything. I do own a fur machine, but it requires that I fire up the generator to run it, because we live off grid. So everything is done by hand, even the lining most of the time.

I have been doing this 12 years now, and it is our sole income.

Nice work by hand, Now you know that you can turn that sewing machine to non electric, What is it? Most bombers hat are the same as a trapper, But bomber have leather and trapper are all fur, The style is the same, Yes I am like you i do not like bomber hats, this is why I feel if you are going to buy a fur hat you want some thing that will keep you warm, Bomber have the leather and the leather is not as warm as the fur, I have learn over the year's a simple way to make all my hat's adjust it a little more work but I fine that it a good sale point, If you buy a hat and you are young the hat can grow with you, If you buy a hat and you want to pass in down in your family you now can because it can adjust, OK if you buy a hat and want a different one you now can sale it and it will fix the new guy, three hot sale point,

By the way I have sent my hat's to Alaska, in fact I have sent then to Russia, I sew by hand and by machine i have 6 sewing machine all old one but we all know the old one are the best,

Here one of my newest hat

Hmm no, these are trapper style...no matter if all fur or not...

And these are 'mad bomber' or aviator hats, which can also be all fur or not...

I alos prefer to make the mountainman hats the way the mountainmen wore them. :-) Flat face, scrunched ears and such....lol I have done a few where I have soaked and shaped the faces... But overall I do faces the way they come to me, like this...

And as I don't do taxidermy, I let someone else mount the heads when requested...

I have a Bonis machine.
