I just accuired over 200 acres of hay field to gopher trap but I know nothing about trapping them.

I tried to find videos on youtube but could not find any good ones.

Any tips/trick or good videos on the net please post.

AES ground squirrel trap. My son invent the upside down 1 long spring set . Just flip the trap over . When they push up the pan with there head , bam . Blind sets with long springs . Steve's traps Rock . I have some set for crayfish on a job right now . . There's always caddy shack methods

Thats sorta how I am doing it but not using a cover. I was covering with dirt or leaving them open.
Also I am using Death Klutch traps.
I want to get some of the gophenators but funds are tight right now.

I will cut some hole covers and see if that help.

Well I have only got the one, but I did have another in a trap, he pulled it about two feet down the tunnel then got out of the trap. Luckily I found the trap.
I am going to put small chins on them and little stakes.

I am having a problem. I cut some paneling to cover the holes with, put lots of dirt over the cover and when I check them the next day the holes are packed tight up to the cover. Are they getting around the traps?
I cant find any other holes so they must be getting by the traps, maybe filling them with dirt making them not go off?

If you are doing what my link showed, and they are still filling it you may have to buy some of Steve Albano's Gophinators, they work better then my other method.
