It seems like every other day we get a call about an aggressive gander attacking somebody. Every year we go through this and the gander is always trying to protect a nesting goose. Not this year. No nests. The goose is usually in the area somewhere and the gander attacks seem way more aggressive than usual. In one instance they're jumping from one new car to the other in a new car lot. Lots of strange behavior. Any of you guys goose experts?

Not a goose but I have seen similar behavior from escaped and disoriented farm turkeys. Fun chasing those down.

Not a goose thing but every year I get a number of Grackles in the pines on one side of my property. While we keep Robins year around the Grackles always seem to be the harbingers of spring and I look forward to their breeding/nesting behavior. Not one this year. Have not even heard that croaking call even while out on jobs. Killdeer are back and running up and down the drive and the Grackles always seem to be here before them. Maybe it is a 2012 thing. smile

Just got a call today (Saturday) from a home design outfit with aggressive geese out front. The conversation was basically over when the lady said they were nesting.

The new car issue is they are shiny and the bird sees itself, they don't like themselves and attack thinking they are going to get their lady goose. It is like when we where sitting in the bar in Vegas last January and you pointed across the bar and said hey look at them old geysers, that will be us in ten years and I slapped you and told you that was a mirror you where pointing at.

Now almost all of you know me pretty well and know that I can take on the best. ( Everybody is a Superman in print ) I will be very honest with you and tell you that I've met my match with ProLine. Some of things I've heard him say would do Don Rickles proud!
