I think Ken took this trip to try and find wives for his school, last I heard he wasn't doing any good at recruiting any though, and I heard that he met one in Casper that gave him a run for his money.

I had the pleasure of taking my new son in law out for his first deer yesterday. He hasn't hunted much and had never deer hunted before. We hiked into a place I call "The meat locker" and didn't have to wait too long. On the way in we jumped a bear and about ten minutes after watching it clear a ridge a quarter mile away Hugh spotted this nice forky watching us from a grassy knoll a little over 100 yards away. I coached him into a good shooting position and he got his 'buck fever' under control and made a great shot. He is still smiling! We dragged it out near the trail head then I ran back to the house and picked up the sled and Christine and they finished the drag together. Next weekend we go out for Christine's deer.

Good clear-thinking son-in-law you have there. He already has your daughter packing out his kill on that sled!

That thought had occurred to me too.

If she starts backsliding we may have to have an intervention, but I think she will be good to go for awhile. I'm gonna miss her come fire wood haulin' time though... Maybe I can borrow her back for some refresher training....
