i found 11 ginseng plants while coon hunting last night so i thought i would go back today and take some pictures.

Nice seng pictures. I found one heck of a big patch one night while coon hunting , in Kentucky, with my father in law.

NICE LOOKING PLANTS THOSE WOULD BE SOME TO START A GOOD PATCH.DIG THEM THIS FALL AND MOVE THEM TO A GOOD PLACE AND START A PATCH.

I am going to replant at my house all I find this fall.AS much as I like to dig seng Iam not selling it for less than 400$ a pound.I would rather look at it growing.

$400 a lb for seng sure as heck ain't chicken feed. Tell me what other root you can sell for 400 a lb. Remember one thing, it ain't nothing but a danged old weed and without the Chinese buyer, you have nothing. You guys that say you won't sell roots for under a certain price have never had to sell roots for 60 bucks a lb. That was the price I got for my first lb. of seng. Then it went all the way to a 100, thought I was setting in tall cotton then. Then it went to 250 and stayed in that range for several years. Only in the last 15 years has seng been as high as it is now.
Remember one other thing. It is illegal to hold onto Ginseng for the off season unless you have a retainer on the roots. If you get caught with roots out of season you will wish you never seen Ginseng.

Thanks for that info Don, didn't know it was illegal to hold Ginseng, at absolutely correct on price. Anytime I can get $400.00 I'm happy.

so does all 'seng fall under the same rules? Like if you raise as cultivated does it have to be 10? Can you harvest anytiMe you want for your own use? eTC.

We sold 5# of ginseng in 1965 for 28$ a pound.I will plant it then dig it up when I am ready to sell! I still have the reciepts on almost all the sang and fur Ive sold over the years.
