I have been seeing reference to turning furs right side out instead of inside out for drying. When I was trapping as a teen, it was all inside out. What is the latest & best methods, and drying times etc??? I saw where it was recommended to turn inside out for the first 20 hours then turn right side out for the final drying time. More details????

get Hal's book "Fur Handling 2000". covers all that stuff pretty well. and there are only certain furs that you turn right-side out, alot are still skin-side out.

Contender, what kind of fur are you asking about? As has been stated it varies from species to species what they want.

Thanks for the replies. I'll check out the websites and the books.
I was refering to almost all types of furs, but I guess mostly, muskrat, coon, fox, coyote, skunk, bobcat, otter, etc that are case skinned.
