My neoprene waders have a leak.
I use these only in winter since they are super warm, but not when water is added..lol
Has anyone successfully repair neoprene.

Has anyone tried NP1 or Aquaseal?

Thanks in advance

ole John

I have tried a bunch of products. They have neoprene kits, the hard part is leaky seams, if you have a hole or rip thats easy the seams dont like to bond realy good. I have found that you need to rough up the area you are patching in order to get a nice bond with the gunk.

Agua Seal. Before you apply, spread open the hole. Then apply the Aqua seal and let the hole close up. It work really good I think.

Aqqua seal works great. Silicone (or goop) does not work on neoprene!

Shoe Goop, Sportsmans Goop or shoe goo. All are similar and all have worked. Neoprene, rubber and canvass parts have been patched and work for 1-3 years. I like to test my waders on Duck opener. Find the holes before going into icewater.

It will if you provide a backing. Some kind of tape or strip of similar material.

aqua seal works better, IMO, than show goo for almost everything. When I worked in fisheries and wore rubber boots, chest waders and dry suits on a daily basis we always used Aqua seal, the other stuff isn't worth goofy around with...it seems to stay flexible a lot longer than the other stuff. Works on rubber and neopene great. Clean it up and apply. I have fixed big rips in waders and dry suits by duct taping the rip together on the inside and gluing the outside.
YMMV....

Shoe goo is garbage....it'll peel off in less than a season. Fine for shoes..but not made for water immersion. Aqua seal works great. When done with it store it in the freezer and it'll hold over for a long time.

If you got leaky seams you might as well buy new waders. If you buy the right aqua seal pack it will have a big sticker about 3 inches across for you to stick on the inside of the hole, then you just fill it up even with the neo with aqua seal. you could try duct tape, the aqua is very tough when it is dry. the backing material you use is just to hold things together until the liquid dries.

Shoe goo is worthless and aqua seal is not much better. NP1 is the way to go. Takes about 4 days to cure but it never cracks or peels.
