Started putting up some rats today, first time I've ever done them. I'm using an old wooden board and a hog scraper to flesh them. If I put the scraper in a vise and file it a bit to make the edge just a little more square (sharper) will it work better or will I just cut holes in the hide. Did six today and seemed like it took more effort then it should of.

Just make sure the hog scraper is dull and it'll work good. That's what I'm using to scrape mine.

i have used one of those plexiglas ice scrapers for years now. i'm sure it has scraped a couple thousand rats and i only have .99 cents invested.
