I've read and seen guys flesh fox and coyote pelts in dry borax. Will it work on beaver?

I put it on all my furs after fleshing to aid in drying.

I put it on the hide side of beaver after fleshing, don't know if it helps or not, old guy that taught me did it so I have been doing it ever since.

How do you use it on your beavers? Just rub it on, or lay the pelt flat and really load it up?

I use the borax on beaver when I take them off the stretcher. I rub it on the hide side to clean up any oil and then brush it off. They look and feel really good for the fur shipper/buyer.

I was told not to put on beaver. Seen some beaver last year that a guy had put borax on they looked real bad. I put it on every thing else in moderation. It seems to work for me.

Only use borax for fur side out stuff on the head and under the arms to help dry, and also useit on stuff that might be on the verge of slipping, other wise there is no need for it on fresh stuff
