Look outside at the moon. Happens for me every full moon on cloudless nights.

The food source has changed and the coon have moved to where the eating Is. And just maybe you caught most of the easy coon. If you caught 10 coon off one location the catch Is bound to drop off. Move on. This system works for me. When the catch starts to drop off I move and stay gone for more then 2 or 3 weeks then I come back and hit those locations again. It seems when you give a location a rest It seems to re bound. Just maybe some of the remaining coon get a little catch shy, not trap shy but catch shy.

You have to get into the deep cover in full moon. Cattails ect. Just my opinion , but is where my dog has to go to find one. Old partner showed me that years ago. Also notice a slow down with Grizz in the time frame just before freeze-up. Am able to improve some by using sweet bait on lip, marshmellow in trap, and a strong lure above trap (usually on tree or limb). I'm not targeting coon this year , so don't have my dogproofs out . But this system is what usually works for me.

I used them some during the summer and wasn't impressed with the catch %. I set a doz next to cubbys and never had a coon in the griz. Both baited the same.

coon aint interested in bait syndrome, thats what footholds with deep dirtholes and good predator lure is for.
