First step is to kill the mold. Bleach will only kill surface mold. Comercial products for killingh mold will work much better than bleach.

There is a product called Fiber-lock that can be ordered through most paint stores. Its a little pricy, but works great. It seals wood and prevents mold growth. Specificly designed for thqat purpose.

Get a Dehumidifier running in the shed. That is, IF !! you can fully close all the doors and windows in the shed.

Get and keep the humidity below 50 % .

50 % and above is a breeding ground for mold.

As for the Wood stretchers, I would not waste my time cleaning the mold off of them. Once that mold gets into the wood, it's in there for good. Cheaper and easier to just throw the old junk out and buy new stretchers.

Wipe it off and quit worrying about it. I been using boards for a long time and all I have ever done was wipe the mold off of the boards.
If you want to add money to something that ain't necessary, then by all means do it.

Anyone ever tried acified copper sulfate ? You can get it at the feed store. Put it in animal waterers to keep the green stuff from growing. They also put it in ponds for algae.
For animals use 1/8 teaspoon per gallon.

I rub mine well with dry paraffin each year just so hides don't stick. Especially around the head and edges of the boards. It also seems to keep mold to a minimum. Just wipe it off with bleach or vinegar and hit it a lick with the wax.
