is it allright to use oak or ceadar or some other wood other than bass wood? im asking this because i cant find anywhere that sells basswood near here.

I made some coon stretchers out of particle board last year. Too hard to use push pins but the staple gun worked great.

staple gun = doesn't matter what type of wood. it just makes pulling them harder. tilt the gun on a 45 degree angle. it makes pulling the staple much easier.

Check if you can push a thumb tack into it and you have good pinning wood then. Cedar is good.
