I just use it straight. Then rinse well when I pull it out. Chris

A little HCl goes a long way. Great for removing rust and only takes hours instead of days. Of course disposal is always an issue.

I doubt if there is a universal ratio to fit all - nothing etched in stone. For my use, a 50:50 solution of vinegar to water has been more than adequate with a 2-3 day soaking.

Here is a before and after example of coils that were very rusty before the dunking.

i usually use 1 to 1.5 gallons of vinegar and about 2 to 3 gallons of water in a 5 gallon bucket. leave traps sit for about 24 to 48 hours and hose them off at the car wash. makes them look really nice!

I use 1 gallon of vinegar to 5 gallons or so of water. Here is the link to a post I made on this subject. Works for me. Tom

Only HCl I know of is Hydrochloric Acid. But I don't know anything about using it on traps. Chris
