9X13 aluminum pan
Cheap Potato Chips (not ridges)
1 Stick real butter
About 4 pounds Vidalia onions. (can use sweet onions. See note)
3 cans cream of mushroom soup (you can use cream of chicken also or mix them)
1 pound bag shredded cheese (I like sharp cheddar)
Lightly line bottom of pan with chips, do not crush.
Cut butter in thin pats and place on chips.
Slice onions THIN and break rings apart. Place over chips and butter.
Spread soup over onions (Do not dilute soup)
Sprinkle cheese over top.
Cover with tinfoil and cook in preheated oven at 375 to 400 deg F.
Cook for at least 1 hour or until onions are tender.
Remove from oven and enjoy.
Amounts will vary according to size of crock pot.
Layer as above and cook on high for at least 4 hours.
NOTE: I have found that sweet onions rather than Vanillas might take a ½ hour longer to cook
