glycerin wont preserve the castor but will keep it from frezzing. i made a homemade beaver lure one time by just fine chopping some castors and filling the jar with glycerin.

Cotton is correct, glycerin is not a presertive,
Blackie's Stop It is good stuff for meat. However, castor won't taint, and needs no presertive(s). If you don't get all the meat off the castor, the meat will taint, but not the castor. Later, 45/70,

I agree with 45/70. While castor wont taint it will gradually change in odor over time. However that doesnt necesarily hurt anything I dont believe. Paul or ASA......What do you think?

45/70... Vodka... if not, what will? How about if I just kept it frozen when mixed with glycerine. I've never played with castor much...

I add a Capful of Pepermint Schnopps to some of my Beaver Lure recipe's Have for 20+ years... Only enough Glycerin to make it a paste...
Other Oils like a few drops of Birch Oil or Popple Bud Oil are fun to add... just write down the ingredients on each batch...
Fun to experiment!
