Here's a weasel pic for ya. I use a couple of smoked oysters for bait, cheap and convenient.

BobTail NOT Bob-Tail

Hey trapperMN

This time of year my guess if your not catching any after awhile I would go ahead and relocate your traps. I know before I think I told you to be patient but that's been awhile and if your still not picking anything up it's time to move around a little.

Don't give up on the boxes they have proven themselves worthy and have caught a lot of weasels.

Your catch count does go down as winter goes on so you just got to accept the fact your probably not going to catch as many. When you first started setting your weasel traps this year you were already getting to the drop off time of good catches.

So by all means keep trapping and learning for next year. Enjoy your time in the woods and you will hopefully still pick up a few.

You motivated me to put out a few boxes tomorrow. Don't really care what I catch just need an excuse to walk the swamp edge. I enjoy snowshoeing so kind of gives me another reason to be out there.

Good Luck!!!

Also while i was checking traps 4 others were set off i later found out it was a red fox, it got into my mink set 120 conibear and just took a little fur off him! So tm i am going to set a few 160 out there in buckets to get him!

Sounds like a pretty good day got to bring one home and have a chance to get another target species to boot.

How about using snares for the fox?

Just remember if your in a populated area there could be peoples pets running around. They seem to find their way into these bigger coni's. But your going to be the best judge of what's in you area.

So Good Luck!!

Man your catching quite a variety. That's cool. For this reason is why next year I am going to be using some longsprings traps in certain areas.

It's funny when it comes to body grips I can catch weasels in my 220's ( I had them set for bobcats ) but I have never caught one in my 110's.

I did catch a few mink in my 110's though.
