i have heard a lot about the money cut on coons and i understand the concept bit i am not sure on how to do it, i was wondering if any body had picture or a video of it or even a explanation, thank you

i also have looked at all the archives and thought i understood it but now i question myself again. It says 2 inches below the penis hole. I thought it was 2 inches below the vent. Im confused.

The way I do it is to make my opening cut from the back of the ankle straight across the coon to the back of the other ankle. Your cut should wind up roughly 2" from the vent and maybe a bit more than 2" from the penis. You can go from the inside of the ankle and get an even longer coon, but the folks at the auction house aren't going to give you any extra credit if you have a bunch of belly fur on the back of the coon. Either way, you will be getting the maximum length out of your coon. The key is to make the cut straight across so you can pin the fur straight on your stretcher.

You will have belly fur if you cut between the vent and penis, on ND coon anyway. Sure couldn't say it is back fur.

Take a coon and lay it on its back.
Take the knife and put it in the middle of the FRONT of the rear foot.
Make a U shaped cut leaving ~1" between the cut and the penis hole.
Split right through the vent to the tail.

Well, anyway, I explained the money cut. You will get at least 1 extra size grade with this cut and many times you can get two size grades.

i just looked through the archives again and cant find any thing on it,
marbleyes, 1" below the penis hole? and split from the top of that cut, by the penis right through the vent? what do you do when you get it on the board? to me that is going to give you two big flaps of hide, i dont comprehend?

so your "window" is cut as u skin and that fur is added to the back insted of throwing it away. ok think i got it, i am till a little confused but i am geting there. is there any body out there that has pics or a video of the skining and boarding process useing the money cut?

so, i got it now. you cut between the vent and the penis, if its a male. Then when you slit up the tail you just go straight thru the vent and basically make a T. Do you leave the skin around the vent on then or does it need to be trimmed off? thanks

ks I do it pretty much like you said, and cut tight around that nasty bung. Canada seems to like mine like that $.

The side cover that the rope is in. The whole cover, and be nice if I could just bolt it on instead of messing with rope and edit spring not string. lol

They had a Safety recall on my saw, exhaust leak weakens plastic. Husky nor the dealer never informed me, and deny that the leak weakened the case. I found a new dealer. I have web link to recall somewhere here.
