my 2001 E350 van was particularly annoying when I did brakes there were like 5 different calipers for it and everyone thought they had it and 1 in 5 places did when I got it there to install.

handy to have a spare truck to drive while working on things , that is one of the reasons I just upgraded my spare/firewood/garden truck

my old one was a S10 with a 5 speed , the new one is C1500wt with an automatic as not all my kids drive stick.
my youngest is driving it now while I figure out a wiring issue in their car.

America only has one issue, we have a Responsibility crisis and everything else stems from it.

Born those electronic ford f150 calipers are extremely expensive.

I did a rear caliper on a 2022 Hyundai Palisade. Bought the part online , OEM , full assembly including parking brake motor , $350. Had to replace the rotor and pads too.

Needed replacement due to the piston getting 'cocked' in the bore and staying locked on a bit. Just out of factory warrantee.

I wouldn't disconnect anything and start jumping wires or think that I have ruined something and need a new caliper until you have tried to the correct tool to compress the piston. If the correct tool doesn't work, which it probably will, then you will know you need to get creative but not until then really. A $25 tool that you can use for the rest of your life has to be cheaper than a new caliper. Just my .02. Good luck.
