The other day my buddy showed me a can of peas & carrots- I forget the brand and didnt take a picture, that had a cancer warning on them. Any guess as to what country they were made/packaged? I think I will pay extra and stick with Green Giant or Del Monte. Unbelievible.....

Reading the label on a can of 'Polar' brand oysters, at Wal Mart, it said contains lead and cadmium. sick Cadmium is way more toxic than lead.

I brought it to the attention of a 'shelf stocker', and eventually they stopped carrying that brand.

READ THE LABELS.

Not too sure on that; but, I was always a little Leary when my mother told us to "eat every bean and pee on your plate."

Check the ingredients on the things in your pantry. Especially the ingredients that sound real chemically. Lots of the dyes and other silly ingredients that arent needed are linked to some bad stuff. We grow a large percentage of our diet, and buy organic everything when we go to the grocery store. A lot of folks think I am being ridiculous, but in my mind its self defense. Not so much for me, but for my children

During WW's 1 and 2, The Government allowed bakery's to add sawdust to flour as a way to stretch out the grain. To this day when you read the ingredients list on a loaf of bread it may say "Added Cellulose".

Cancer doesn't come from a cancer fairy that randomly sprinkles cancer dust on unlucky people. Cancer comes from carcinogens (and genetics). Reduce the carcinogens in your life, and reduce the chances of cancer. In dietary terms, that means eating real foods that humans are designed/evolved to eat (whatever your viewpoint may be), and make sure those foods weren't sprayed with/cooked in/packaged in/preserved in carcinogens. Nobody can do this perfectly of course, but the less carcinogens you consume, the better your chances.

If you bake you're own bread use organic flour.

Government years ago allowed bromide to be added. Bromide is a halogen

One advantage of raising and freezing all of our beans, carrots, peas, brocolli, cauliflower, sweet corn, green and jalopena peppers, and canning a lot of tomato products
I make a lot of lefse out of our potato crop and that cuts down on the bread I eat or buy.
