Yea, the ice is never clear as glass. I look at the lodge and guess. Chip a hole and feel around. Working good this year. The more experienced guys kinda look at a lodge and feed bed and will have a good idea. For me, Google maps is useless. It’ll tell me where there MIGHT be activity, the beaver change the bush every year, moving spot to spot up and down the area.
