Do you folks cut the nose and cheeks (whiskers) off of your beaver prior to stretching?

Some do some don't most buyers measure from the eyes back and then add the width . NAFA measures square inches behind the eyes with a light table . So it realy dosn't matter if they are there as long as they are fleshed clean you don't want to leav any meat or fat there just to leave them on because it could taint itself and the hide next to in the bale if stored long

Myself , If they flesh off clean without getting tore up I tack them out because I like the looks of it . but if they tear I trim them off I don'ty take any exta time messing with that area .

You should always trim the nose and whiskers off.

I do not beleive it is neccessary. Maybe FHA cares...I don't sell to them so I'm not worried.

If we all do them the same way, would it not be better for all of us.

I cut them off when fleshing.
Your beaver will dry noticable quicker without them. Its also the way the auction houses want them.
