The subject says it all. I have a couple gallons of MTPs cold pressed fish oil. I prefer the sun rendered stuff. Can you turn this oil into sun rendered oil? or should I just start catching carp?...LOL.
If you have a "secret" way to do it....love to hear about it.

I don't see how you can. Sun-rendering and Pressing are simply two different methods of extracting the oil from fish. Once you have the oil, you have it.
ONe is from a rotting down process and the other from pressing fresh fish and fat until it becomes a liguid lol, unless some other ingredients are added its the most overrated stuff in the trapping bidness after pure meat fed clean urine lol, or at least thats what the add calls it.

Paul Dobbins hit the nail on the head...Why would you want to change one product to another anyway? Just get two seperate products and see which one works best for you.

Next time you get the chance crack a lid on some sun rendered fish oil then smell the pressed oil ( well made rendered fish oil not just rotten fish juice ). There is more of a fishy smell to well made rendered oil than the pressed oil.Just an opinion of my uneducated nose. If you want to spice your pressed oil up a little add an ounce of shell fish oil to a quart and see if you can smell a difference.
I prefer more "stink"...LOL. that's why I wanted to change over. I've tried the shellfish oil and never done any good with it...sould be a regional thing.
I mixed in crawfish oil from MTP about 5 parts fish oil to 1 part craw and it was pretty good that way.
Sun rendered trout is some very good oil. Most high fat content fish make good sun rendered oil. Good material is not cheap but the quality and odor are significantly different. There isnt alot of real sun rendered oil out there.
